PG Florist, works on an order for a customer. "The flower business is in my family," she said. "Each work we do here is to help our customers express something with flowers."Photoby Junius Stone / Texarkana Gazette.TEXARKANA, Texas — Flowers are a family tradition for Elizabeth Marcelle Yates, owner of PG Florist. She has been in the flower trade her entire life, having learned it from her grandmother. Now, she still applies the skills and eye that runs in her family."Flowers is in my family blood," she said. "We've been doing this trade for generations."PG Florist, now located on Texas Boulevard, is not her first enterprise in the flower arts, nor is Texas Boulevard the first location of the current business."I originally was located on Richmond Road," she said. "But there came a time where the business just outgrew, bloomed beyond the previous location. Since then, we've been establishing ourselves here. We are welcoming our new customers who have discovered us here and want to ensure those who have been with us all this time we are not out of business. We've just changed location."Things are really busy at PG Florist right now as Marcelle (she goes by her middle name) and her staff settle into the new locati... https://www.texarkanagazette.com/news/texarkana/story/2020/oct/08/business-blooming-relocated-florist/844419/

Atlanta Floral on Main Street in Atlanta, Texas. In the early 1980s she sold the store to Benita's Blossoms and moved her business to Texarkana. She went from florist to interior decorator and opened a store in McKnight Center until she outgrew it. For the past 25 years Marie's Interiors and Gifts, on the corner of McKnight and Pleasant Grove Road, has grown to fill every corner of every room with delightful seasonal finds and upscale home interior items.Besides the store, where she sells unique items, she also goes to homes and decorates for clients - even working with contractors on new homes from the ground up.Marie works with the clients on color schemes and patterns, and orders everything from carpet to furniture to custom drapes. Once the house, or room, is designed, she decorates it with items she finds at market in Dallas."The key to being a good decorator is to visit with the clients first," Marie said. "Once you get to know them well, then it's easy to make them happy."Each winter she and her team decorate 35-40 homes in the Texarkana area for Christmas. Calif. flower shop with no connection to Capitol riot flooded with threats, negative reviews - SFGate

Sunday, January 17, 2021

Not long after pro-Trump rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday, the angry yet puzzling calls started rolling into Becky’s Flowers, a florist in Roseville. But it didn’t end there. Over the past week, the family-owned business in Placer County has been subjected to hundreds of negative reviews on Google and Yelp, in addition to countless threatening comments on Facebook and Twitter. All of them were directed toward Jenny Cudd, a woman who was arrested Wednesday in connection with the riots and charged with two misdemeanors for entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct. Cudd was identified after she posted a video on Facebook bragging about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office being broken into during the riot, reports the AP.  She also happens to be the proprietor of a florist called Becky’s Flowers in Midland, Texas — the source of the confusion for Aaron Alberti, who has owned and operated the Roseville Becky’s Flowers since 2004. Now, he’s trying to clear the air in order to save his business. https://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Beckys-Flowers-Roseville-mistaken-Capitol-rioter-15871654.php
