The florist-to-the-stars told WEHOville that he gave special care to create an arrangement appropriate for each location.“I always check out the surrounding elements for inspiration,” said Buterbaugh. “For example, I thought it’d be fun to incorporate pink pampasin front of Pink Dot. I was inspired by the yellow building at the Sunset Plaza sign so we incorporated stunning yellow forsythia, yellow acacia, yellow lipstick pincushion protea and lots of soft pinks for an opulent, springtime vibe. Offering a range of beautiful hand-tied bouquets available in a range of styles and sizes, shoppers can request arrangements using flowers of their choice or ask the florist for recommendations. Based from her home at Dalton, near Richmond, Sword Blooms is independently ran by Emma Sword. Raised on a farm near Gainford, when leaving Barnard Castle School Ms Sword trained as a florist, and then embarked on a 13-year career in the care sector. This winter, she left the care industry at director level to follow her passion for flowers and create Sword Blooms, based from an outbuilding at her home. She said: “I have always loved floristry, it's been an ongoing hobby for many years, during the pandemic to lift the spirits of family and friends I began creating arrangements for those nearby. We are just all-around florists.”From eight in the morning to five in the evening, the family is hard at work pumping out on average more than 200 orders a week.“We work as a team, and we know that we are here to offer a service,” Williams said.“We get our orders together, and everybody knows whatever their role is.”The shop opened in June of 1977 and has been in the family for more than 40 years.The store now sits in its third location.“My mom worked for Newman Florist on Lamar for many years,” Williams explained.“She envisioned having her own business, and she started out down on Park in that little strip mall. Eventually Hessong came home, and Sheets continued to run her machine, even showing Dale the necessary steps in the process.“She cared about people,” daughter Lori Arment said. “She cared about people’s feelings and their well being.”“That’s one of the highlights of her life to be able to help in that way at that time,” daughter Cathy Hiatt said.Helping others, faith and family were the pillars of Sheets’ life. Her compassion was matched by her late husband Ken’s, who became her primary caretaker as she dealt with dementia until he died in December.In early April, Dawn Sheets developed a cough and began running a temperature.
