While out exercising with my wife on the logging road a black Whippet dog came charging out of the woods and headed straight for my wife with its teeth bared and barking, hair raised on its back. My wife, who is afraid of dogs, almost jumped into my arms as I moved to block the dog. I yelled for the owner, who was still out of sight but was in the woods yelling for their dog, to put their stupid dog on a leash. The dog then ran back to its owner, turned, and charged my wife again from 30 feet away; this really got me mad and I told the convex woman, who finally made it out of the woods, that if her dog charged me again I would kill it. Yelling to her dog she stated "I was just about to put her on the leash", meanwhile, the dog charged my wife for a third time, this time I tried to grab the dog but the animal was out of reach. Of course the owner who still had not managed to put the dog on a leash yelled "don't you hurt my dog". Her dog then charged my screaming wife a fourth time with teeth bared, this was more than I could take and confronted the useless owner chest to chest who finally put her dog on the leash. With much yelling back and forth she of course used the standard idiot dog owner excuse "she isvery friendly and doesn't bite anyone". What kind of a stupid mentality is this? If a person approached you with a weapon and said "I have never hurt anyone" would you feel at ease? Not everyone likes dogs, like me, and some people are terrified of them, like my wife. I can imagine the story she told everyone else was "I was walking the dog on a leash and the dog went up to say hello and they tried hitting her". Keep your stupid dog on a leash or don?t be surprised when someone does harm to you or your dog as it comes charging at them.A CHEERY BOUQUET full of warm sunshine and wet doggy kisses to the staff at Courtenay Vet Clinic for their professional, quality service. How Much Does a Wedding Cost on Average?Tuesday, August 28, 2018
Geography matters, too. Getting married in New Mexico only costs, on average, $17,000 according to The Knot. But if you get married in New York City (Manhattan), expect to pay around $76,944. Your head-count matters regardless of budget. The cost of a larger wedding, with 100 people or more, is significantly more than that of an intimate wedding. According to the website CostofWedding.com, 50% of couples keep their wedding costs below $15,000 by opting for an intimate wedding. Yet invite 100 or more guests for a larger wedding, and you're looking at costs totaling twice as much (or more, if you're getting hitched in a big city like San Francisco or New York City). Traditional Wedding Cost Splits Wedding traditions, at least from a financial point of view, haven't changed much over the years. Exhibit "A" is having the bride's family pay the most for the wedding. According to The Knot, the bride's family pays 45% of all wedding costs. Right behind the bride's mom and dad are the actual newlyweds, who contribute 41% of wedding costs. The groom's family pitches in, too, paying 13% of total wedding costs. While traditions remain strong, figuring out who pays for a wedding can be somewhat complicated, given that so many people are getting married (and remarried) later in life. Historically, here's a list of who pays for what in a traditional wedding. It's an important piece of knowledge, considering that you'll need to set up a wedding budget beforehand, and you'll want to know who's paying for individual wedding costs. What the Bride's family traditionally pays for: The reception, complete with drinks, food, music and a wedding cake The wedding ceremony, including flowers and any special decorations The bride's wedding gown The photographer and videographer Limousine or special transportation to the wedding and reception What the Groom's family traditionally pays for: The wedding rehearsal dinner Wedding gifts for the bride and groom What the Bride traditionally pays for: The wedding ring for the groom Any wedding gift for the groom The bride's hairstyling and make-up Wedding gifts for her bridesmaids What the Groom traditionally pays for: The bride and groom's marriage license The bride's engagement ring The honeymoon Any wedding gift for his groomsme... https://www.thestreet.com/personal-finance/education/how-much-does-wedding-cost-14693474

Eddy County Fair Community Center, where children designed floral arrangements to be judged the next day by a panel of nationally-accredited horticulture judges from around New Mexico. Members of the Artesia Garden Club, mostly elementary school students, were hard at work Wednesday to craft their creations in hopes of winning the contest. The Artesia Garden Club was awarded first place in both national and regional horticulture competitions last year, hosted by National Garden Clubs Inc. and New Mexico Garden Clubs. President Julie Foster said getting children involved in the craft is more important than ever in the modern age.
