Her intention was to have a pop-up shop for two months to test the waters, but with 95 per cent of its Christmas stock sold, her customers have given her the support to press forward for another six months. “I was super-nervous to open. We didn’t know what restrictions would come, when they would happen, or when things would change, so it was extremely nerve-wracking,” Smith told The News. “But I thought amidst the pandemic, why not take the plunge? Eventually Hessong came home, and Sheets continued to run her machine, even showing Dale the necessary steps in the process.“She cared about people,” daughter Lori Arment said. “She cared about people’s feelings and their well being.”“That’s one of the highlights of her life to be able to help in that way at that time,” daughter Cathy Hiatt said.Helping others, faith and family were the pillars of Sheets’ life.
