Lorraine Lucille Layton, 93, of Lewes passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, at Harrison Senior Living, in Georgetown. She was born July 22,1927, in Georgetown, daughter of the late Edward C. and Thelma (Rodrigues) Newhouse.Ms. Layton was a lifetime Delaware resident, raised on her family’s farm in Staytonville. She attended Milford High School and after getting married, moved to Lewes. Ms. Layton enjoyed being a homemaker and embarked on a career in floral design working for McNichol Place, and then spent many years at Windsors Florist. Later in life she enjoyed working with extended family at Millmans Hardware, and there she was able to showcase one of her many talents - wood crafts. Lorraine had a lifetime passion for crafts, art, drawing, and woodworking. She was generous and kind and loved to make Christmas ornaments, wooden toys and decorations, and other intricate handmade crafts for friends and family. When she wasn't busy working and crafting, Ms. Layton was spending time with those she loved most. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Michael G. Zonko in 2016; and a son, Michael Johnson.Pat was a self-employed hair dresser and also worked at Givens Florist in Georgetown. She enjoyed crafting, painting, travelling, dancing, gardening, cooking and joking around. In her younger years she was known to be very energetic and was the life of the party. She is survived by two children, Matt Johnson (Melody) of Millsboro and Pam Conaway (Lorenzo West) of Angola. She also leaves behind her beloved canine friend Abby. She has three sisters surviving, Brenda Kleber (Richard), Barbara Marsh and Kathy Thompson (Greg); as well as three brothers, Donald Mulholland (Doris), Richard Mulholland (Eileen) and Kenneth Mullholland (Sharon). Pat leaves behind five grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Cody Kidwell, Lauren Rossi, Christopher Rossi and Nicholas Rossi; along with six great grandchildren, Mark Everitt Jr., Lily Everitt, Jayce Brown, Jayden Johnson, Jaymes Johnson and Emma Kidwell. Pat is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.A walk-through visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S.
