The tablecloths were even made in Naples. And when her florist was facing an emergency, Davenport obtained the flowers the supplier and created the draping centerpieces herself.Over at the table of the Marco Island Center for the Arts, the favors, miniature cupcake paintings on easels from the center's artists, sat beside plates bearing abstract designs, again painted by the center's artists. A wide-eyed ceramic elephant teapot, created by kids' ceramic classes, stood ready to figuratively dispense warm drinks."Le Rosé Rendezvous," the table of Peter Antanelis, had been created. The theme was "Ombre," and Antanelis, whose work is divided between Naples and New York, had carried out the theme down to the split seat covers. On one end, furry white cushion covers, split with the palest pink-gray; on the other, deep and total fuchsia. Gift candles ranged according to table position, from snowy to rose"Everything moves from white to fuchsia — every aspect, the candle, the cupcakes, everything," he said. Even a layered cake, which Antanelis himself baked, had ombre layers of filling."As soon as I got involved with it, I thought of the theme. So I asked for a rectangle table and I ended up with a huge rectangle table," he said, laughing. Antanelis' table was one of at least three holding 18, necessary to accommodate the 670 ticket holders.For this particular fundraiser, some of the designers were as colorful as their tables. Jewelry designer Amanda Jaron had come in a doublet shift made fluorescent abstract with her daughter's artwork; it had also given electric appeal to her store's tablecloth, although her fluorescent-trimmed high-heel sneakers may have stolen the show.In its 34 years, the Naples club has raised nearly $5 million for Collier and Lee needs, according to President Gigi Stewart."I was overwhelmed — absolutely overwhelmed, Stewart said of her first look at the tables Monday.
