The finish: gold trimmed black china bearing either green Lucite pachyderms or the familiar chocolate-and-vermilion of Norman Love confection boxes.Up for Grabs, which describes itself as a high-end consignment shop for furniture and table wares on U.S. 41 North in Naples, had raided its best stock for an Easter theme. Owner Katherine Goodman and her assistant, Amy Bruener, had assembled egg-bearing trees and ceramic Easter creatures around white urns erupting in foliage, with predominantly glass-and-gold table settings."Everything came from the store," said Goodman, proudly. Naples Tables was nearly born to her business: "We do a lot of china, crystal and silver, and we do very well with it," she said.Lisa Davenport operates design studios in both Naples and Middlefield, Connecticut, under a recently changed title, LLD Design, and she had created a "Made in America" theme. She typified the care that was going into designer tables."Everything here was made in the U.S.," she declared. "That includes the silver. We even found some that have 'We the People' on them." Davenport had scouted out candelabras, vintage cut glass water tumblers and fabrics created here, all in a red-white-and-blue theme. The tablecloths were even made in Naples. And when her florist was facing an emergency, Davenport obtained the flowers the supplier and created the draping centerpieces herself.Over at the table of the Marco Island Center for the Arts, the favors, miniature cupcake paintings on easels from the center's artists, sat beside plates bearing abstract designs, again painted by the center's artists. A wide-eyed ceramic elephant teapot, created by kids' ceramic classes, stood ready to figuratively dispense warm drinks."Le Rosé Rendezvous," the table of Peter Antanelis, had been created. The theme was "Ombre," and Antanelis, whose work is divided between Naples and New York, had carried out the theme down to the split seat covers. On one end, furry white cushion covers, split with the palest pink-gray; on the other, deep and total fuchsia. Gift candles ranged according to table position, from snowy to rose"Everything moves from white to fuchsia — every aspect, the candle, the cupcakes, everything," he said. Even a layered cake, which Antanelis himself baked, had ombre layers of filling."As soon as I got involved with it, I thought of the theme. So I asked for a rectangle tab... https://www.naplesnews.com/story/news/local/2020/03/03/naples-league-club-fills-ritz-carlton-pavilion-wow-tables/4885588002/

On Wednesday, she stumbled across Heaven Scent Flowers in the city’s downtown. The florist was giving two bouquets of flowers to anyone who walked through the door. Lonicka wanted to brighten the day of a new friend, and flowers always bring a smile, she said. “I have a sweet 87-year-old neighbor who can’t easily leave the house,” she said. “(These flowers) will brighten her day so much.” “Petal it Forward” is a national event where flower shops hand out hundreds of bouquets to patrons and local businesses.
