Mrs. Claus and Jingle will lead children in songs and dances and there will be a fun craft and chance to write a letter to Santa.Fun with Mrs. Claus programs will be held Thursday, Dec. 7, in Donaldsonville, and on Tuesday, Dec. 19, in Dutchtown. Coffee Method serves coffee roasted by Sorrento Valley's Zumbar Coffee & Tea, and in this instance the flower shop is on the left side of the shop.Coffee Method owner Robert Stewart hadn't intended to open his coffee shop alongside a florist, but says it's proven a good match, with customers of one business becoming customers of the other. Out of thousands of people who applied, Kassie Peterson was chosen as one of the florists to join the White House Christmas decorating crew."It was a humbling thing because I enjoy it so much and they always say find something you would do for free as a job," Peterson said.Peterson opened her floral shop "Kassie Kay Floral Designs" back in June on Franklin Street in downtown Clarksville during the midst of the pandemic. "It's been very challenging," said Peterson. "We had to dial back a lot of our workshops and in-person events."She says going to the White House for this opportunity was a dream come true."This year it was one of my reach goals for 2020," Peterson said. "I try to be a goal setter, it keeps me on task and this was one of my reach goals for 2020 so I was ecstatic when I heard the news."Peterson will leave for D.C. on Thanksgiving day. Many of his customers — retail florists — are also seeking exemptions. “From what we’re hearing, it’s a 50-50 split on whether florists are getting an exemption,” Berglund said. “It seems to depend on whether they say they’re a flower shop or agriculture.” “If you can do a food delivery, you can just as easily do a floral delivery,” he said. Can yacht and pleasure boat dealers fit into the transportation category — as “marine consultants”? Harry Walp, president and CEO of Northwest Yacht Brokers Association, said it’s not yet clear if boat sellers are essential businesses. Over the past week, the family-owned business in Placer County has been subjected to hundreds of negative reviews on Google and Yelp, in addition to countless threatening comments on Facebook and Twitter. All of them were directed toward Jenny Cudd, a woman who was arrested Wednesday in connection with the riots and charged with two misdemeanors for entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct. Cudd was identified after she posted a video on Facebook bragging about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office being broken into during the riot, reports the AP. She also happens to be the proprietor of a florist called Becky’s Flowers in Midland, Texas — the source of the confusion for Aaron Alberti, who has owned and operated the Roseville Becky’s Flowers since 2004.
