What kind of jerks steal flowers from cemeteries on Memorial Day? - MLive.comTuesday, October 18, 2016
WHITEHALL, MI – Here's one from the some-people-are-heartless-jerks file:The Whitehall Police Department reports at least five thefts of flowers from gravesites at Oakhurst Cemetery over the Memorial Day weekend.Chief Roger Squiers said he believes the number of thefts is probably significantly higher. A local florist who put out flowers for families at the cemetery said "there's a lot more missing," Squiers said. The days just before Memorial Day are when people spruce up the graves of their departed love ones. It used to be that people would put dirt into cement urns next to gravestones and plant flowers there. But now, it's much easier for them to find pre-potted flowers and drop the pots into the urns, Squiers said. And some people apparently think they can just help themselves."It just seems like people think they should have it," Squiers said. "They want their house pretty... They think that 'I want it so I'm going to take it,' that 'Nobody's going to notice. It's no big deal.'"How else could they do it?"The chief plans to install cameras at Oakhurst Cemetery prior to Memorial Day next year to thwart or catch thieves."Does our current culture... http://www.mlive.com/news/muskegon/index.ssf/2016/06/what_kind_of_jerks_steal_flowe.html

The longest-working employee started helping in the greenhouses 45 years ago and still works at the Saint Mary's Street location.Frank Campisi has managed that location for 20 years. He said, while the ownership has changed, the family focus remains the same."I talk to customers who... https://www.wral.com/wral-small-business-spotlight-fallon-s-flowers-celebrates-100-years-in-raleigh/19595753/
