DECATUR -- Spring has accelerated over the past two weeks, with several varieties of flowering trees in full bloom across Northwest Arkansas.At Crystal Lake, and throughout the wooded areas of Decatur, Gentry, Gravette and beyond, white dogwood trees are beginning to dot the hillsides with their beautiful white blossoms. Close cousins, the pink dogwoods are also beginning their blooming cycle.Different varieties of flowering trees, including the Japanese pear, with its white petals, will soon begin to bear fruit. The Asian or Japanese pear is a cross between pear and apple trees.
